32 [July 17th, 2026] For the first time in a while, I've opened up TiXL to make some kind of cool looking animated thing. What a fun program. I should probably update my copy, I know I haven't done so in a while. I don't feel like dealing with any breakage though, so even though the current version I'm using has a few annoying quirks, I might end up staying on it for longer than I should, lol.

30 [July 16th, 2026] After several days of baffling symptoms, I seem to be recovering. I still have **no fucking idea** what was up. I am still significantly behind on my Japanese study, by virtue of being too out of it to do much of anything at all.

29 [July 12th, 2026] Blah, dying. Body hurts all over. Sux ass. At least I ain't going into work, but fuck man, everything hurts and I feel kinda cold. My brain keeps telling me it's related to my trip. I sure as hell hope it ain't. Alternatively, it's work related... (;´Д`)

28 [July 9th, 2026] Now that I'm back from my trip, I really gotta get back into my Japanese study. I **really** neglected it, mostly from sheer exhaustion. I am also not looking forward to going back to work, blah.

27 [July 9th, 2026] As interesting as reading AI research is, please take a lot of the papers with a grain of salt. This is true in general when reading papers, since cool sounding results are what gets continued funding, but with AI stuff in specific, there are overt incentives to hype things up to keep the gravy train as a whole running. It is much easier to get funding when investors feel like we're only a few years away from AGI, rather than say, decades out with major architectural shifts required. I do in fact believe we do need **major** architectural shifts to get a system you could reasonably describe as having achieved AGI.

26 [July 8th, 2026] I keep hearing people say shit like "12GB of VRAM isn't enough" in a gaming context. What the absolute fuck is the industry doing? Seriously, what the fuck? Where the fuck am I even getting 12GB of VRAM in this market? Fuck off.

25 [July 8th, 2026] I don't want to be one of those guys who talks about AI all the time, but goddamn, reading AI research papers is legitimately **super** interesting, especially when looked at through the lens of comparing the structure and operation of machine learning models from a neuroscience point of view. Still, there are so many things missing in machine learning language models for me to really say AI is properly conscious or intelligent, and then even if it was, it wouldn't be like a human mind (in fact, it is measurably unlike one in its outputs). Absolutely fascinating stuff though. I do think people put far too much stock into the fact that the system is fully deterministic if you don't add random fuzz factors in, since the *structure of the data* is what makes it able to think (or, if you're being uncharitable, and I won't blame you, do something resembling thinking), and the very nature of the analog values found in nerve impulses means that there is an inherent fuzz factor in everything related to real brains. This paper was a **really** interesting read: (( https://transformer-circuits.pub/2026/workspace/index.html )). Please take it with some (a lot of) salt, since Anthropic's **entire** business model is it propping itself up by just saying shit, but I've read other papers analyzing how LLMs work and this work is at the absolute least not made up from whole cloth.

24 [July 6th, 2026] I am no longer 100% too exhausted. I was in DC over the 4th, had a great time with my IRL buddies, and the only real issue was the fact that we drove straight from FL to DC, and then from DC back to FL. DC was **stupid** hot, to the point where it was the hottest in the country at the time. I have no idea how the people who didn't live down south were able to deal with it, and I suspect they didn't with all the ambulances around. The management on the 4th was a bit of a mess. I feel sorry for the National Guard, they really were trying, and clearly weren't getting the direction they needed. I'll proooobably post more in the minblog at some point.

23 [July 6th, 2026] I have finally returned from a trip. I am **exhausted**. I may or may not post more details, I am absolutely fucking exhausted right now and about to pass out.

21 [June 28th, 2026] I said in entry 15 that I'm tired of hearing about AI, and I guess I am sick of seeing stuff on it in the news (fuck), but at the same time, a lot of the research on it is absurdly interesting, so I'm just reading a bunch of things on new techniques and the lot. I kinda wish the research wasn't all only able to be done entirely because money is flowing freely (carelessly) to anything AI related. I really do want this fucking bubble to end, even though it would almost certainly take a lot of really fascinating research with it.

17 [June 26th, 2026] I wanna do something, but I'm kinda fried right now. I really need to fire up TiXL again. I actually have a few projects I need to finish in it (and one that is basically finished, I just need to do tweaks and render it to video).

16 [June 26th, 2026] I saw a post somewhere that mentioned about reading XML files manually, and all I can say is good luck escaping the hole you have probably dug yourself into to be stuck doing that wwwww. I mean it too, sounds rough.

15 [June 25th, 2026] Now that I've written my huge-ass article on AI, I am now entirely exhausted of hearing about AI, for or against. I may have have exhausted all my willingness to think about AI in the last week, lmao. I *should* get back to trying to practice IIDX doubles instead of thinking about it.

14 [June 25th, 2026] I really don't watch enough anime these days. I don't watch enough shows in general. I don't even mean to keep up with new stuff, there's tons of classic old shows I really need to get around to watching. I used to watch so much. Also, you all should really go watch LuluttoLilly, it's fun as hell. I should catch back up, lol (I just watched ep8, we're on 12 as I typethis).

13 [June 25th, 2026] If you've never watched Sabu and Ichi's Detective Tales, it's so fucking good. The animation is... not really there at all, but it's so stylish that it's hard to tell whether it was a hard budgetary constraint or a deliberate move to make it more manga-like. Was re-watching the first episode and fuck, it's badass.

11 [June 25th, 2026] I don't want to go to bed. It's 3:33am, and I have work. Even when doing shit I want to, I feel like there ain't enough time, lul. Shit sucks.

10 [June 25th, 2026] I really do need to upload some of the stories I've written, even in unfinished state. Please remember that I do not use AI to write, although I would be suspicious of pretty much *any* writing in the current age, lol. Actually, 90% of why I've spent time using AI since I've started has just been RPing with Tamimin and Kukoka lmao, and the other 10% were tests of things so I could write my article.

9 [June 25th, 2026] Trying to get the Tamimin and Kukoka system prompt working properly as I use more powerful models with it is a hassle. Kukoka is now too nice, since I can't really figure out how to get her to be rude, but not just be a straight up hassle on the largest Gemma model I can run (gemma-4-12b-qat). She was more naturally tsundere on the weaker models. Alas. I ended up using the word "tsundere" to actually describe her to get her closer to what I wanted.

4 [June 24th, 2026] I have decided that each nanoblog entry will get a newline after it. Entries still stay entirely on one line. The format is "post-id [month day, year] post-text", with two new lines (if parsing, you should just ignore blank lines and not actually count). As an aside, remember to force a refresh in your browser to avoid caching when checking here!

1 [June 24th, 2026] This is my nanoblog, for when I'm too lazy to add a miniblog post/don't think something is that worth messing with. Posts here may be converted to miniblog posts at some point. Posts will all go on one line. The newest posts are at the top. I can and will edit posts here whenever. Inspired by (( https://n0thanky0u.neocities.org/micro/index.txt )) on n0thanky0u's site. Enable word-wrap/pipe it into fold if you're doing wget or whatever to view this.

#format of this file:
#  - This file is UTF-8.
#  - Lines starting with # are comments and are to be ignored by automatic parsing tools as being part of the entries. It's up to you if you want to display them, but they aren't entries.
